Safety Policy
The sea is beautiful and majestic, but has its risks. As experienced
boat operators, we understand and respect these risks and try to minimise
them in our working practices, ensuring a safe and enjoyable trip for
everyone.
* Our boat is licensed and has been inspected by the Marine Coastguard
Agency. It is licensed to operate 20 miles from nominated ports.
* All our skippers are fully qualified and insured.
* The boat undergoes a full safety check every day prior to sailing.
* We are fully insured with vessel public liability.
* The office receives daily Met Office Data Forecasts, along with other
forecasts, to ensure we have the maximum information available. We also
have close links with the RNLI Lifeboat station, which gives us access
to up-to-the-minute local conditions.
* We carry equipment in excess of the legal requirements.
* We have a written safety policy which includes detailed procedures for
various situations, such as the boat being overdue, for example.
* At all times that the boat is in service, it is in contact with the
shore duty officer by radio and telephone. All conversations are logged,
with the number and details of people on board.
* Skippers and crew undertake regular emergency drills.
* All skippers and crew are first-aid trained.
* We make it compulsory for you to be fitted with lifejackets and we
will refuse boarding if you are intoxicated in any form.
* The boat carries an emergency life raft
