Environmental Policy
We are aiming to achieve a sustainable income while minimising our
impact on the environment. As such, we take our responsibility to the
environment very seriously.
* We are now a CarbonNeutral
company, where carbon emissions are offset by investment into
sustainable green forests to absorb the emissions.
* We also hold the Green Dragon Award (level 2), an environmental
award from the Welsh Assembly.
* Our engines are state-of-the-art Evinrude E-Tec engines, which
the makers claim to be the most environmentally friendly engines on the
market today, with up to 80% less carbon monoxide emissions than an
equivalent 4-stroke outboard engine and uses 75% less oil than a
conventional equivalent 2-stroke. (Source: RIB International,
Feb/March 2005, pp70-71)
* Our boats operate with 2 engines running simultaneously and are
computer controlled with very low emissions (Year 2006 compliant) and
are extremely quiet. To reduce the risk of underwater acoustic simple
harmonics we ensure that they run at slightly different speeds.
* We work closely with organisations such as Friends of Cardigan
Bay to ensure that we operate to preserve the wildlife. Relatively
little is known about the habits of the cetacean wildlife in our area
and we endeavour to help these organisations with their research.
* We have a policy of recycling our waste as much as possible
including paper, glass, cans and plastic.
If there is more you think we could be doing in this area
please do tell us - we would love to hear your ideas.
